First run

Double-click what you downloaded
chatda-win-x64-setup.exe, right where it landed. Nothing to unzip, no install location to choose. - If a blue window appears: “More info” → “Run anyway” That is SmartScreen. The file is signed by PROJECTTEAMFORYOU — check that name in the window. More on it below.
- The search screen opens by itself Documents, Downloads and Desktop are picked up automatically. The filename index finishes first, so the search window opens in seconds. Reading inside your documents continues in the background — once, about 22 minutes for 100,000 files. Everything is findable by name meanwhile, and full-text search switches on by itself when it finishes. The black window is CHATDA itself — keep it open, closing it stops the search. After this, start it from CHATDA in the Start Menu or the desktop.
Things worth knowing first
Written here rather than left as a surprise after you download.
You will see a blue SmartScreen warning
- The executable is code-signed by PROJECTTEAMFORYOU, but the certificate is new, so Windows still shows “Windows protected your PC” for a while — apart from the signature, SmartScreen counts how many people have run that publisher's files and for how long. Check that the publisher shown is PROJECTTEAMFORYOU. That is the real check. Choose More info → Run anyway.
- Antivirus software may flag it briefly. To list files quickly, CHATDA reads the disk's index region (the MFT) directly, and that behaviour resembles some malware. False-positive reports to individual scanners are still on the list.

You can verify that the file you got is the file we published: compare it against
the
.sha256.txtin the release. It uses no third-party libraries. The only outbound traffic is a once-a-day check for a newer version — it sends nothing, and you can turn it off inside the program (what is exchanged).
