- Added a thin line at the very top of the screen linking to other programs, apps and games by Projectteamforyou (projectteamforyou.com). Your browser opens it only when you click or tap — CHATDA itself sends nothing. The same line now sits at the top of every page of the website.

- Fixed the phone app postponing index refreshes forever because of protected folders it can never open (manufacturer and other apps' private folders). New files now get indexed. Refreshing is only postponed when more folders become unreadable than last time (a USB drive was removed or the network dropped).
- The “Folder not reachable right now” warning now clears itself once the folder is reachable again. Before, it stayed until you restarted.
- CHATDA for Android is now on Google Play. Get it from the Android section of the website.

0.7.0 — More scanned PDFs, and add folders while it runs

- “High compression” (JBIG2) scanned PDFs from office copiers are now read and searchable by their text. The format stores each letter shape once to save space, so it is common in office scans. A few coding variants (Huffman) are still skipped.
- If you choose “Search this folder” in Explorer and the folder is outside what is indexed, one click on “Index this folder too” adds it — no need to quit and reopen. It lasts for this session only and writes nothing new to disk.
- Even if you moved your Downloads folder to another drive or OneDrive, ZIPs are now created in that folder.
- The “Measured against someone else's yardstick” section now links to the original paper and dataset.

- Pressing “Zip & copy” now opens the Windows save window, where you can pick a folder (or make a new one) and a name; if the name exists it asks before replacing. The last folder you picked is remembered for this session. Hold Shift to skip the question and save to Downloads.
- “Download CSV” uses the same save window to choose the location and name (Edge and Chrome). Browsers without it download straight away, as before.
- The ZIP is written under a temporary name and renamed when complete — an interrupted run never leaves a half-written ZIP or destroys the file you were replacing.

- Pick files in the results and press “Zip & copy”: only the selected files go into one ZIP, saved in your Downloads folder, and that file is copied. Ctrl+V it into mail, Teams or a chat and it pastes as a single file. Originals are untouched, up to 2 GB at a time.
- The long-path prefix Windows adds (\\?\) no longer shows in the result list, “Copy path” or “Copy as text” — you now see and copy C:\Users\… .
- No copies of your documents are left in a hidden folder — the ZIP appears only in your Downloads folder, and deleting it is up to you.

0.6.0 — Two Android apps · search your PC from your phone

- The CHATDA Android app finds HWP, PDF and Word documents on a phone, down to their text, on that phone. The app has no internet permission at all, so it cannot send anything anywhere (you can check the permission list in the app info).
- The CHATDA Remote app and “Search from your phone” on the PC — turn it on under ⋮ More and point the phone’s camera at the code on screen, and you can search this PC from your phone over the same Wi‑Fi and open what you find right on the phone. It is off by default, only paired phones can connect, it is read-only, and everything is encrypted and never goes over the internet.
- The phone apps use the same engine and the same screen as the PC. The privacy policy is now version 1.7, describing “Search from your phone” and the two Android apps.

0.5.0 — Scanned PDFs, “distribution” HWP files and the inside of ZIPs — CHATDA now searches more places

- Scanned PDFs (PDFs without a text layer) are now searchable by their contents when you start “with text in images”. Page images are handed to Windows’ own text recognition on this PC and deleted right away.
- CHATDA now reads the body of “distribution” HWP documents that public offices send out. Before, they were found only by the single line “This document is a distribution document of a newer version”. Subject and keywords written into documents are searchable too (HWP, HWPX, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Names and contents of documents inside ZIP files are searchable — like the contract inside a ZIP someone emailed you. Korean names written by Windows’ built-in compression no longer come out garbled. ZIPs inside ZIPs and password-protected entries are not opened.
- Right-click a folder in File Explorer and choose “Search this folder with CHATDA” to open a search limited to that folder. Turn it on or off under ⋮ More; on Windows 11 it is under “Show more options”.
- A read-only API for scripts (/api/v1) and a “read-only” mark on every tool for AI assistants. The first start of this version reads your documents once more. CHATDA still sends your searches and documents nowhere.

0.4.1 — Filters as chips, dates in your own time zone — a top-to-bottom checkup

- Filters you type into the search (file type, date, size, preferred folder, excluded words …) now show as chips under the search box — click ✕ to drop just that one.
- Dates now cover the whole period: date:2026-09-04 means that entire day and date:2026-09 the entire month. "Today" and "yesterday" start at midnight in this PC's time zone (they used to start at UTC midnight, so in Korea files changed before 9 a.m. were missing from "today").
- File-name conditions such as *.hwp contract or regex:, and sort:, now apply to matches found inside documents too. Before, those results ignored them and unrelated files slipped in.
- Fixed: after an automatic update the program could come back with "open files" turned off, and "Update" in the tray did not restart it. The signer check on downloaded installers is now exact, and a disguised downgrade to an old version is refused.
- Fixed several damaged PDF, Hangul and Office files that could stop the program, and spacing that glued words together. OneNote (.one) and Remote Desktop (.rdp) files are shown in their folder instead of being opened. CHATDA still sends neither your searches nor your documents anywhere.

0.4.0 — Ask in a whole sentence and it still finds it — the way you'd ask an AI

- Type a whole question and it now searches inside your documents. Before, only documents containing every single word of the question were shown, so asking “How much is the penalty if the contract is cancelled?” usually found nothing. Now documents with all the words come first, followed by the closest matches. The same goes for an AI connected over MCP that asks in sentences.
- Measured on 6,871 questions in 11 languages judged by native speakers (MIRACL): accuracy (nDCG@10) 0.025 → 0.31, questions with no result at all 73% → 0.2%. No dictionary and no AI model — words alone.
- Searching by keywords works as before: file names and documents containing every word come first, and documents matching only some words are added below only when there are few results.
- Fixed: a long Chinese, Japanese or Korean sentence typed without spaces could freeze the search for seconds on large drives (1 million files: 4.4 s → 0.03 s).
- The first time the new version starts, it re-reads document contents once (ranking now uses document length). File-name search works right away in the meantime. CHATDA still sends neither your searches nor your documents anywhere.

0.3.0 — Send what you found — one Ctrl+V into chat or mail

- Press “Copy file” or Ctrl+C and the file itself goes on the clipboard. Ctrl+V into mail, Teams, a chat app or Explorer attaches it as is — every format works, HWP and Excel included.
- “Copy as text” copies the file name, path and the matching passage as one block. PDFs, images and text files can open the Windows share sheet straight from “Share…”.
- Pick several files and send them in one go, and recent searches appear when the search box is empty. They come from the search history that was already there — nothing new is stored — and “Clear history” removes them at any time.
- Fixed: document previews turned every line break into “␟” and showed one solid block. There is also a button to copy just the matching passage.
- Security: “Open file” now refuses more formats that execute when opened (.chm, .xll, .msu, .appx, .theme and others). CHATDA still sends nothing anywhere — the Windows clipboard and share sheet do the sending.

- When a new version is out, CHATDA downloads it for you. It installs only after checking both the SHA-256 and the PROJECTTEAMFORYOU code signature, and it installs quietly when you close CHATDA — no window interrupts your work.
- You can turn automatic updates off under ⋮ More. With it off CHATDA does not even ask, so nothing leaves your PC at all.
- After an update, the first launch shows you what changed, once. This note is that.
- Every request we make is written down — see exactly what is sent and received at chatda.dev/transparency.
